Yep.
That's basically all you really need now. Plus Ableton is an incredible production application, can make samples sound like hundreds of different samples in a matter of minutes.

From experience dude, to start off you don't even need nearly that much. I started with a mouse and Reason 2.whatever. There's SO much to learn and get experience with before ancillaries would make improvements.
I'm sure the DJ experience will help you a lot with structure and sound. At least you'll know better what kind of goal you're trying to acheive.
Now I have Live 6, a MIDI keyboard, and some nice headphones. That's been good for me, as far as stepping up equipment with skill level.
There ARE benefits of using one machine to process software instruments and effects, but I'm guessing you won't need that, as Live does a great job of freezing tracks. (basically processing all the inst. and effects in a track so it treats it as processed audio, lighter CPU load.)
Good luck with production, and I look forward to hearing what you come up with. I'm always willing to lend my ears!

Question.. what have you purchased thusfar? Do you have a keyboard and trigger finger yet? Axiom 49 has 8 pads built in. Might save you some dough there.

I could do it without any of the midi controllers.

So far I have all of those except the Trigger Finger & Midi Keyboard, I was going to Ebay them today. I've been playing with ableton and samplepacks for about 2-3 months now, but still I'am very new to it. I can't build a decent build up, it's like I can't control the samples and synths the way I want. I just want to be in full control of the music
a studio like MSTRKRFTS is just intiminating

Triiger Finger and Ableton also make for a very nice digital dj setup. If you're into that kind of thing.

the rig you mentioned in the first post is perfectly good for creating basicly top end quality stuff
What you might want to explore and get your hands on is some good sample libraries to top it up (doesn'ät have to be expensive stuff, if you put in a max of 100$ into samples you have a really nice library in your hands )
just dive in and learn the software and learn it good and just go from there
