AudioGalaxy - How Long Will It Continue?

Just wondering how long you think AG will be able to continue in it's current form?

Read This!

Hopefully for a long long time I don't know what I would do without TA and AG as they are the only quality and reliable source of good hard to find and new trance music for me and my not so trusty 56K

Although I can see AG probably trying to force everyone down the subscription route.

Later

Turbotrance

I HOPE it stays forever because now, it's my ONLY MP3 source! I tried other services and besides AG, I like WinMX but, they don't have EVERYTHING! Morpheus, Kaazaa, etc. is terrible due to Spyware (Spyware-free versions of AG and Kaazaa at http://home.hetnet.nl/~cpjraats/agsatellite2.html) PLUS, I can't get NEARLY enough stuff from it as on AG! ALSO, AG AUTOMATICALLY resumes! This is great for 56K/ISDN'ers because it makes their modem automatically dialup (on Windows XP) whenever the connection MAY be lost (Like if ur ISP has a timer and automaticaly disconnects you after a certain amount of time (4 hours for me, 2 hours for someone else on these forums).

Yeah for some its an only source for new material, and i can see it making a lot of changes in the future. Such as a timelimit on all dl mp3s, which Morpheus is now undertaking

Eventually people like the RIAA will have all of these things shut down... especially the public access sites/programs... have to stick to ftp, but I am know that they are pretty hard on that as it is

Actually, I think we are getting to the point where the RIAA cant do much any more. If AG goes, people will make another p2p like it and we will pick up where we left off. Theres really not much they can do to stop it, and the know it. The RIAA has its back to the wall, and is really starting to use its big scary tricks, like the CDBPTA (or whatever the hell it is, formerly SSSCA). Anyone ever hear about this? Among many, many other things, it would make the following illegial (in america anyways):

-Building a computer
-Programming open source software, such as linux
-Owning a computer that doesnt have govt approved copy protection software on it
-Much more outrageous crap i cant remember right now

Basically, the bill says if it has a computer chip (computers, TV's, your coffee machine), it will be required to have govt approved copy protection software, or its illegial. All this was brought on by SC senator Hollings, who gets all of his campaign money from disney, the RIAA, and MPAA (gee, who would have thought?)

Sorry for the little side rant, but my point is that the RIAA knows there isnt much they can do to stop it. Its like prohibition, people are gonna get it anyways. Just look at what good shutting down Napster has done. No matter how hard they try, we will be ahead.
