question for Kitchen wizards

Ok so my parents went to my neighbours for a meal the other week, they were going on about this thing but I cant remember what its called....want to buy it for there anniversary this week.

Basically you heat up a stone in the oven then put it on the table (on a platform i imagine) then you cook thin strips of meat in front of you...like you would share fondue...you share the one stone...

Any ideas?

it sounds remotely like the japanese who cook infront of you, but obviously that's a bit more than just a stone. Maybe go ask their neighbours
