Conflicting Lead during Buildup / Break

Working on a track that has a lead during 4 measures before the break, and at the break there is a different lead that sounds (dunno how to put it) conflicting. Not off key, just not in the same feel I suppose.

However, the buildup lead is really good, and I dont want to scrap it.

Advice pl0x on how to overcome this problem?

I'm thinking of running the buildup lead into the break for a couple measures, then fading it out as the other lead comes in.

sounds to me like u should be able to do what u said.. use it to lead up to it but dont actually have it playing at the same time
