Does anyone know the difference between the mixed and unmixed versions of the reactivate series (volumes 10-18). . .
I just got all the volumes from a friend of mine they kick ass and i reccomend if anyone can get their hands on them to do so ASAP. . . some of the best early trance (90s) out there

there's some brilliant stuff out there the unmixed ones would be "dj friendly" by todays standards

Difference?
Mixed versions came out as 1 disc, while unmixed came out as 2 disc set (except Reactivate 10)

Reactivate were a brilliant south London based label. I've got 8-18 and I have to say they are amazing - 13 was definitely my favorite when that first came out. I ended up buying the older series from Ebayers last year.
Great series, shame it ended.

Yeh, that one was a beast. I have the triple vinyl.
Great series. On the underground side of trance with a few well known tunes thrown in for good measure.
Great quirky artwork on the covers. I think the last Reactivate was brought out in 2001.

Abosutely. Back in the days before internet file sharing and streaming audio, the Reactive series was the main source of getting to know the best underground trance out there in the mid 90's.
Most of the mixed compilations were mixed by a DJ called Blu Peter. I remember there was one volume that was mixed by John '00' Fleming, I think that was 13 or something?? I started collecting them from volume 10 and onwards.
My favourite volume is 12.
Shame I don't have the entire series...

Ahh memories... I remember first hearing "Lost In Love" (Sean Tyas remixed it this year) on Reactivate 10 all them years ago.
I remember phoning up Reactivate asking for Volume 10 because I simply couldn't find it at the time anywhere (before Ebay was mainstream). A nice bloke from the label said that he only had one copy left in the building, and was so kind enough to post the CD to me for free.
How cool was that?

Here's a bit of history on the React label - how it started off and how it eventually became the Resist label. Very fine label indeed. I think this is one of the longest running dance music labels out there

the cds are good, but i hate the awful artwork. it looks like any generic TECHNO PARTY TOP HITS 1997 MEGA TRANCE compilation that gets tv-advertised.
