they are 2g...that is why iphone isn't available for Japanese market because they use 3g over there..and it should be available for them next year..but..it will be a "cheap" thing for Japan, since they pay bills by scanning their cell phones..like cabs, shops etc..

Probably means it won't be in Australia either, they're phasing out 2G, if I was going to buy a fancy phone the N95 looked to have more or less same sort of stuff and I wouldn't have to buy a new GPS either.
