Kanye West - Stronger...Ripping off Daft Punk?

Seems Kanye calls himself as "Mr. West" with his new single "Stronger."

Basically he sampled Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
in the background during the hook, but uses his own lyrics for this song.

Has anyone seen this video or heard the song yet? I dunno if it was a good idea to sample Daft Punk.

Here are my favorite lyrics from the song:

"Do anybody make real shit anymore"

Man....how i hate rap music. Those lyrics were BS. I haven't like anything since Tribe.

C'mon now, EDM takes on other songs for its own (not just remixing), i.e. Ferry's re-do of 808 State's Cubik, so let's not get down on hip hop taking other people's beats.

Though i suppose most of your objections are to the lyrics. But still...

nope, haven't seen or heard it.
quite frankly, I cannot stand Kanye West. He thinks he is a gift to every person who ever walked this planet.

cocky mofo.. stay the hell outta EDM.

P. Diddy needs to do the same.
Too bad he is such good friends with Morillo, now we get to put up with him interupting the sets so he can ramble on the mic or do whatever the fuck he feels like. Idiot I tell ya. A very rich idiot at that though.. lol

edit: don't get me wrong, I don't mind artists sampling other genres of music and so on, but there are just some ppl that I either just don't like or don't think should attempt this. Kanye and Diddy are 2 of those artists.

I dig it.

And I don't think theres anything I hate more than people who hate on hip hop. 99% of people who hate hip hop only go by what they hear on the radio. Think about this in terms of EDM. If you only went by what you heard on the radio, you'd hate EDM too.

Here's a better Kanye track off his new album:

quote:

i had a dream i could buy my way to heaven,
when i awoke, i spent that on a necklace.
i told god i'd be back in a second.
man, it's so hard not to act reckless.

I would agree with you on that statement. Although, when I speak about hip hop I don't just base it on what I hear on the radio these days. I actually have knowledge behind it all considering that was all I ever listened to before EDM came into my musical interests.

So if you wer referring to me and my comments at all. I have full reason behind and and don't hate hip hop, there are just some people in the industry that I can't stand and will make comments about. For the most part, I still really enjoy listening to it every now and again

I love hip hop beats....but you're absolutely right, I hate the lyrics. Commercial or non commercial, i don't care if you're a baller, if you have girls, what you're driving, etc....

To be fair, i also don't dig for the underground stuff, but to me it's not worth it.
