Are these DJs considered UPLIFTING??

i know Tiesto and Ferry and AVB and Gielen etc are Uplifting trance DJs...

but are Marco V and Mauro Picotto and Blank & Jones also considered "UPLIFTING"...i consider uplifting to be kinda softer style of trance like what Tiesto and Rank 1 play...but these other DJs seem to play harder trance...not real hard..but different enough for me to question if its still uplifting...

would this be right:

UPLIFTING = Tiesto, Rank 1, Ferry, AVB, Johan Gielen, Cor Fijneman, DJ Astrid

then i would consider these DJs harder but not HARD trance...jus a tad above uplifting = Blank & Jones, Talla 2xlc, Marco V, Mauro Picotto, Dumonde....

i am not saying they are Hard Trance DJs but jus a little harder then uplifting...am i wrong...what do u think?????

I think that Tiësto is the most uplifting I can imagine. Nothing could ever be better than the "Magik" series or that first Innercity set. In that matter I think that he defined the style. Rank 1 is definitely uplifting like in the "awakening" song like AVB can be but I have some really hard sets he played, much like PVD. But to synthesize, nothing equals Tiesto in this matter.

i think blank and jones is very uplifting and so is pvd and avb. tiesto has been playing some crappy shit as of late and has tended to stray away from good ol uplifting trance. (cept southern sun)

The only true uplifting DJ you named there is Johan Gielen, I think. I just saw AvB this saturday, and he's more of a uplifting/progressive trance DJ now. Same with Corsten and Tiesto from what I've been hearing. Blank & Jones? Hehe, they play commercial tunes, and once in a while, an uplifting track. They dont' really have a defined style, I think, they just play the "sick" beats

Marco V, Talla, and Dumonde...hard uplifting. They tend to play tunes that follower a similar formula to uplifting (beat, braek down, build up, next, repeat) but with a more thumping beat, and not as epic synths.

Mauro...I've never really heard this guy, but I doubt he's hard trance...more like techno, methinks.

And PvD isn't an uplifting DJ...He plays everything...bangin trance and prog..techno...whatever...he's an electronic music dj...hehe. A while ago I had a set by him, he started his set off with a break beat tune...

Hey, sorry...I just edited that right before you posted it. sorry bro, You're not stupid. I shouldn't have said that...

Yes, he does play massive anthems...but thats the beauty of PvD, he drops a few massive uplifters in a 2 hour set, and a bunch of other styles as well. He's not like Gielen where its uplifter after uplifter after uplifter. They're few, and far in between in his sets, and thats what makes the set so much better. You get into it, and then after 30 or so minutes, he drops a huge anthem, and it just makes it so much more rewarding.

no thats not true he plays very uplifting, just not the high NRG dumonde or gielen type of stuff but still quite uplifting, just as scot bond and hardwick tend to do.

People say he is turing progressive, thats not really true. I have never seen a set/CD of him which was progressive, in fact I think that magik 7 is one of the must uplifting and energetic CD I ever bought.

Its true that tiesto doesn't spin the 99 type trance, but saying that he doesn't play uplifting isn't true.

and blank Jones are good producers but spin pertty cheesy, check the rosenmontags set from last year where they dared to play Operation blade and barthezz Im happy that they are doing better these days days

Mauro Picotto - Trance?

I think not!

Well his productions are often trancey, But he doesnt mix any of this,
He plays fucked up weird techno, more bangin than the adult channel and Television X put together!
