Read This! Making hip hop beats

Some dude asked me if i could make him some beats. He even said he'll pay me which is sweet but i dont really know anything on making hip hop beats and i need money. I just tryed doing one now and it sounds like some shit from the 90's. I guess he wants stuff like Immortal Technique.

Any one produce hip hop? Tips, tricks?

aba format in almost every track. most are 4/4 time sigs and most chorus' are really just bridges. bassline usually hovers lower than the kick, like in dnb from 50hz -75hz... kick is usually boosted around 85hz and snares/claps make most of the rhythm.

i've been offered a few hip hop things too but they always want it faster than i'm able to do(with the rest of my life just being crazy).

maybe i'll post a sample of this hip hop mix i did

Hiphop is a spiritual thing, just listen to a ton of good hiphop. Dead Prez or Eminem have some super, super hot beats. Check'em out!

Check out some DJ Shadow!
