Vestax VMC004FX

Hey guys,

Well I've already gotten sick of my Beringer DJX 700 mixer and I'm looking to upgrade. I went into a local shop today and had a shot of the Vestax VMC004FX and I loved it. Very clean look, easy to use in general, cool effects which you can tweak, and I love the fact that you can completely cut the hi/mid/low with the EQ knobs.

If I bought it, it would go alongside my Pioneer CDJ800MK2's

Just wandering if anyone here owns one and has any input on it at all, I'm pretty convinced to buy it I'd just like some feedback to see if there are any common problems with the mixer or anything.

Thanks

I have the VMC004, without the effects. I think that it is a very solid mixer. The upfaders and EQ knobs have a stiff feel, which I did not mind at all. The EQs do a pretty good job of controlling their respective frequencies, although not quite as well as my A&H. I don't know much about the effects on this mixer as I've never used them. I really like mine, I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up.

Yeah I noticed that with the EQ knobs, they seemed kind of stiff - but I like that.. if they were so loose I would probably always turn them and do something stupid haha.

The effects are really good, I cycled through them and they all seemed decent and the wet/dry knob allows you to make some real funky sounds, especially on a buildup. Unlike the DJX700, got a whole bunch of effects and I can't understand how even one of them is classed as an 'effect'.

I have one and I love it, built like a tank. I like the FX being assignable to either A or B of the cross fader or master. I like the stiff knobs too, nice little x-fader adjustment switch on the front as well. so far the sound quality coming out of it is great. all in all I would recommend one greatly, the only thing I could ask for more from it is kill switches and are separate from the EQ knobs but that is a must have so I am very happy with it.

The effects are quite good as well, there are some eve go off the LFO so remember to use the tap button or you will sound out of time though. a thing I really like about the effects is you can listen to them like cueing a channel before you bring them in so you know whats going on as well.

when I was first starting out I owned one of the older VMC004's (original) and that thing was built like a tank...nothing but quality from vestax on that one. I have heard though that the effects are quite shite on the 004FX. good luck.

i prefer a looser feel to my faders and nobs, so i never really cared for the VMC004. however i am a very proud owner of a vestax PCV-275, and i can vouch for vestax being a QUALITY brand of mixer. they have great sound quality and very rugged design.

Yeah that's one thing I like about the mixer, it's got a unique look that's different from most other mixes - but of course that isn't the main reason I bought it.
