Anyone using the Korg KP3?

I'm thinking about buying one from the local music shop for $380. Anyone else here using one? And if so, what do you think of it? Is it worth the money?

I'd be hooking it up to a Behringer DJX700, which is hooked up to my Denon DNS3500s and Technics MK3's (four decks total).

I've used one before. They're pretty fun to play with but, IMO, sound cheesy as hell. If you're looking for an effects processor, you might want to check out the EFX-500/1000 as an altrenative.

Is it worth all the extra money to get the efx - 1000 over the 500?

I think it really it depends on what you want to do with it, how much you can afford to spend, and if you want to use it for home use or performances. Here's a good side-by-side comparison of the two: http://www.djresource.eu/Topics/sto...00-vs-EFX-1000/

Not that it SHOULD matter, but the EFX-500 is OLLLLLD. Like 1998! 9 years later and they still sell them... big difference is the sound and build quality. Vastly improved on the 1000, but you pay for it.

I used to own a KP2... it ended up not getting used much with my mixing style. The KP3 looks much better with it's sampler upgrades, but I'm not sure I would personally use the effects anymore than I did on the KP2. The do tend to sound cheesy, but used in the right hands can work well.

Awesome. Thanks for your input and DEFINITELY thanks for that comparison. I'd been looking for one like that for a while.
