If the USB device shows up as a drive letter in my computer just use any old undelete or format recovery software on it. ie. Active Undelete or Undelete 5.0 Professional
Just make sure you don't write any data to the drive otherwise it'll overwrite the sectors you might want to recover.

I have one of those Maxtor USB drives and I reformatted the usb drive with one of those Maxtor softwares thinking I was installing a recovery software. This is what happens when you try to do important shit on 30hrs of no sleep.
So far, no luck. Will try out some of the recommendations on this thread.

yeah what Malek said, even though the files are deleted it's still physically there, but adding anything or installing stuff on it will make sure that the old files are gone.
if those software don't work, there's a place on Bloor St. which is one of the best in North America for data recovery but they charge A LOT

if its a format with nothing written on the drive, files should be there intact and easily recovered by getbackdata.
I did the same mistake many times (and you think i would learn from my mistakes...)
