Release Info:

Norwegian Nils Noa is one of Oslo’s best known producer/dj’s, steadily HE’S BEEN CRAFTING HIS SOUND and his latest offering comes in the form of a joint venture with Dave Sinister. They met at the Rockit festival last year in Holland, where Dave was MC-ing at Nils stage and they seem to hit off that day which resulted in X-rated, a cool slice of house accompanied by Dave’s strong vocals. X-rated is the first offering of both men, while Nils is also working on his second album with his good friend Tronso, focussing on more of a listening type of mid tempo sound but still with a club feel to it. Nils is also an impressive DJ, one that travels around the globe more and more lately, surprising people with his flawless blend of numerous styles of music. Besides that he is now starting a residency at Ploink in Oslo, Norways’s premier technonight, and a Ministry of Sound oslo residency.

The Original mix is a cool mix, this is probably the best way in describing the whole vibe of this tasty tune. Cool beats, a cool groove and a very cool Dave Sinister flowing on top of everything. The Hip Hop feel of Dave works wonderful with the house vibe that Nils Noa has layed out and both elements work great together. It’s one of those songs I can’t wait to hear in a club, also as of late it seems that House and Hip Hop are starting to meet up more and more, a good thing!

Nick K does what he does best. House with a twist, tons of energy and an impeccable production which is the foundation of all his music. For me, Nick is one of those producers that is often underestimated, something that becomes clear once you’ve seen with your own eyes and ears what his music does on the dance floor. His remix of Oxia of last year is still causing waves everywhere. This remix makes no exception, he’s toughened everything up, worked the vocals into a bit of a frenzy and the melody that kicks in after the break is simply stunning. Essential stuff!

Christian Sol is another exponent of Norway, tons of talent, a great sound and already gaining lots of support from jocks such as Satoshi Tomiie, Danny Howells, etc he can do no wrong. Christian is one of those young producers who seems to have a style of his own already, as where other people seems to look for years to find it. He’s stripped the original version completely into a more minimalistic version, leaving out the vocals mostly and concentrating on the melody mostly. A subtle monster of a remix!

Last up is Muzikjunki, talking about making a name as of late, this man is on a mission! He’s just completed a remix for Sander Kleinenberg imprint LMR, a 4 track EP for Nick K’s label Gangsta Audio, remixes for Ministry of Sound, CR2 and Groove Collection records. Besides that he’s just set up two labels on his own, Deep Dutch and Stuyvesant records. Muzikjunki has toughened up the beats for his remix, spicing up the whole feel and with that come up with a very solid approach that will probably appeal to all house heads around the globe.
