Minaya - Reflections May / June (2 hour progressive trance/house mix)

I recently had to move out of my house and go between some friends places and it pushed back alot of my mixes I had planned. It's extremely late but I decided to do them together instead of seperately. Things are on delay at the moment but everything ive planned should slowly unfold and come out soon.

My first 2 recorded two hour mix. This is a very special mix for me mainly because I really think it encompasses the many different sounds I love into one mix better than my others because I have more time to work on slowly building the mix up.

The first track is straight up beautiful. Their’s no denying this track is stunning and I guarantee if listened to alone with headphones on it will move you. So enjoy this great opening track.

Offdate’s Southern Sun has nothing to do with that other classic song of the same title. So sorry to get anyone’s hopes up if you thought a new remix was at hand. Instead we get a great opening progressive trance track that really sets things into motion.

Zeppelin is a very interesting track. Play it too slow and it’s too calm but play it too fast and it’s just plain akward but if you find that right speed you get an energy building track that’s sure to be used in my sets for months to come.

Alucard always delivers great emotional and melodic progressive trance and When Two Hearts Collide is no exception. What you think is a calm track completely takes off once the bassline breaks sneaks its way in during the breakdown.

The only way to follow this up was to starts really picking things up with Escalate. Cliff Coenraad is doing quite well at the moment and I’m sure after listening to this track you’ll agree he deserves it.

This next mashup was very spontaneous I decided to throw the two tracks together after my first test run with the mix I felt that both tracks sounded as if they needed each other together to truly take off. So I made it happen and I hope you enjoy a great track from two talented locals (Jon and Sue) along with the very 80ish sounds of Charlie G and Bastards of Funk.

Matt Cerf and Shawn Mitiska have been top on my list since their remix for Interstate’s Remember Me and they have yet to let me down. I couldn’t have asked for anything more than for them to remix a Eelke Kleijn track. Their sounds mash very well to create once blissful experience.

Joonas Hahmo another favorite of mine delivers another funky yet trance inspired song. The piano in this song really hooked me and the track flows effortlessly with energy.

Although I debated using this song because of how many DJ’s are using it I couldn’t help myself. Hopefully this hasn’t been played out too much for you because here it is again its Cedric Gervais with Spirit in My Life.

Umbrella is another track that’s extremely popular right now but it’s the Markus Schossow mix that really impresses here. It never fully takes off with the original song but that’s what attracted me to it. Everyone’s heard the original over and over but this one sneaks in the original than takes it away instantly but it truly hits hard I know this will wow a lot of people.

Nick Muir is always impressive. One half of Bedrock and an overall great producer theirs not much to say except enjoy!

Now here’s in my opinion where all the different sounds of this mix really start to come together in the next three songs. It was my personal favorite part of the mix to do because I had three amazing vocal tracks to work with.

The first being a Jody Wisternoff remix of Cerf, Mitiska and Jaren’s track Me & You. Just an amazing track and you can definitely expect this in my live mixes. Jody truly shines here making great use of the vocals that are reminiscent of Maddona’s recent work with Jacques Lu Cont and her older days.

Following is another great remix from the always outstanding Noel Sanger. Another producer I never have to listen to twice to know something great is going through my head. He takes a great vocal track here and breathes all new life into it. My favorite song of the moment it’s Lustrals Because of You!

Up next is an older track by Attic. Julie Thompson’s vocals are always top notch and this is no exception. The track is so simple yet so full of life. Truly showing more isn’t necessarily better. They really let Julie’s vocals be the main focus here and it was a great choice.

After a track with Julie’s vocals is another track with Julie’s vocals. Another old track that threw in for memories sake its James Holden’s Nothing the beautiful 93 Returning Mix. The vocals are incredible because he completely chopped them up, played them backwards and god knows what else but the incredible part is that it still sounds as if she’s talking. An amazing classic I know will bring back memories for everyone.

Breakfast truly is the most important artist of the day. His tracks are all perfect in my eyes and they never stop coming. Its beautiful, energetic and it’s got that original Breakfast sound. Enjoy!

A very fun vocal track here remixed by Marco V. It’s got what you would expect from Marco some techy and energetic beats along with that old 99ish sound to it. This should definitely get people moving.

I never figured ATB and Mark Norman would cross paths but here it is. ATB tapping into that harder bassline he started in his remix for Renegade. They sound similar but it works out very well here.

Following is a much harder track from Gabriel Batz and Wizz. It’s definitely a treat in this case with a hard kick and over powering bass. Usually I wouldn’t have time to fit in such a darker track but with the freedom I had I really felt it necessary to get in something a little harder than usual.

Mike Foyle seems to love his melodic piano tunes and this one hit me very well. It’s all you would expect from Mike and more. Older melodic trance fans will find something special in this one.

Jennifer Rene constantly proves her worth with every track she’s involved in. Her vocals are as soothing as they are powerful and emotional. Rene and Jonas Steur were a perfect combination and what has been created here is easily one of my favorite songs of all time. It truly reminds me of vocal trance from the so called better days. I know this will hit everyone’s heart and it should.

And what would my first 2 hour mix be without a full on acoustic track? Here’s a beautifully sung Ride by The Cary Brothers which should remind you of the Last Kiss.

Thank’s everyone this 2 hour mix was a lot of fun I hope to do another soon until than give me some time to get July done and until than keep an eye and ear out for some new productions. <3
