electronic drum machines

is there such as thing as software drum machines? that u could use with FL studio? i want to create a lot of percussion and i think a drum machine would have lots of different styles that i could learn from before probably manually putting it into the sequencer.

does anyone use drum machines of any sort?
thanks!

A lot of people, including myself, use a VST drum sampler, like Battery 3. Although there is nothing that restricts it to being a sampler only for drums, its designed for that purpose.

this is too complicated looks like more than a drum machine, i will just learn different drum patterns and plot them manually!

NI programs are shite. do they really need there own browser??! and the FL browser u cant drag and drop, making u trawl through NI's shitty tiny fiddley browser.. wankers!

yea i usually just use battery3 for all samples.. kontakt only for a select few things it can do battery can't.. but usually just using battery for everything is faster.

but seriously if youre using fl you don't need battery or any other sampler.. the step sequencer is what makes fl so awsome.

Try this http://www.kvraudio.com/get/759.html if you want a drum synth with unusual noises. I like it alot, really good for laying down quirky percussion riffs and shuffled hihats. I usually just sample loops off it and lay the audio out ready for processing through fx and stuff.

battery is awesome though and I think battery combined with something like the above would give a good range of options.

Hmmm, you're using fruity loops? I don't see why you would need a drum machine, like battery or whatever...

I would have thought with you using fl it would be easy, cheaper and more effective in the long run for you to just get a shit load of samples and drag the samples into the sequencer...

Although battery is good, but expensive :| A mediocore free drum machine is called Drumatic, you might be able to find it on Kvraudio or something...

Infact, here it is

http://www.kvraudio.com/get/307.html

its good for more techno styles of music, i found the drums were way too weak for trance, but i found that with any drum machine i used, sample manipulation ftw!
