This is a special mission for NASA. It will carry the first teacher into space. The Teacher in Space Project was conceived in the 1980s. However, the project started off on a bad note when the first teacher was killed in the Challenger accident. Twenty-two years after being selected as her backup, this teacher, Barbara Morgan will go into space on board the Endeavour.
