Just finished this game for my first time. Anyone care to explain me the plot?

Alternate reality Chrono Trigger. Post-CT events. Lavos (Time Devourer) is still around.

in chrono cross you assume the role of serge, an inter dimensional traveler looking to save the world(s) from destruction yadda yadda yadda....it gets a little confusing but worth it if you take the time to explore yourself
