Question anyone ever needed to file an ebay/half buyer protection claim?

anyone?

i just did this, cuz this fuckass advertised his software as "brand new" and when i got it i opened the package, the software wasnt shrink wrapped, called the tech support and the product key inside was already used.

i bought this software for my gf cuz she needed it for a class shes taking.

i emailed the guy like 3 times already and he hasnt replied yet. plus the packaging didnt say his name. only an address.

first time ive had a bad experience in the 8 years ive been on ebay/half. well except for the one time i bought something and the guy didnt take paypal. who the fuck doesnt take paypal??!!

but yea, anyway, does this buyer protection shit actually work? am i going to get my money back or what?

but he cant file a complaint against me unless he emails me through ebay/half which he hasnt done yet.

score!

so far ive waited on giving him negative feedback, should i continue to wait or go ahead and tell him he sucks at life?

money is irrelevant here if he's fucked him over. The best thing to try is fucking him back over, beginning legally, screenshot the auction if you still can to prove he said new, then take it to them with the proof that the key is used, and see where it go es. If that fails, send tigerclaw, DA & guns around

Ok. Did you pay with paypal? If not, you're probably fucked.

If you did, I would recommend attempting to contact the seller a couple more times (you never know, he/she might be out of town...prolly not though lol), and if you get no response, then file a claim with paypal, as well as ebay.

Once you file a claim with paypal, they put a hold on the funds associated with the transaction, until something has been worked out. If the seller won't communicate, it works in your favour.

You may need to provide ebay/paypal with proof that it doesn't work (like maybe a photo of the item/instruction/serial code, and a number for them to call to verify that the code doesn't work).

If you can give them enough info as proof, they will pwn him/her and give you your money back.

Good luck

I've been shafted a few times on ebay, so I know the whole procedure

PM me if you wanna know anything specific, or just post it.

i did use paypal. i already filed the claim with ebay/half. should i file a claim with paypal too? thing is, the item took almost 2 weeks to get shipped to me, so the guy already has his money. so how can paypal put a hold on the funds?

basically i guess im already trying to get my money back through ebay/half so wouldnt doing it through paypal too void that or something?

paypal has his bank info. they will take it back.

id seriously recommend getting a bank account separate from all your other accounts. even if that means going to a different bank for it.

what software was it?

i took my bank account info off of paypal cuz like a jackass i bought a book on half and didnt click other payment options to pay with my credit card and they took the money out of my bank account that only had like $2 in it. so i got over drafted like a bitch. so to prevent that from happening paypal no longer has my bank account info. i only use my credit card now.

it was SAM2003 Assessment and Training for Microsoft Office 2003.

luckily they changed the book and everything for the class, so my gf doesnt need the software anymore, but i still want my money back.

also, can i go ahead and sell this thing on on amazon .com or do i need to keep it in case ebay/half wants it? lol. i think holding onto it for now would be the best bet.
