While on the topic of the DJM400, could someone explain to me the following. The 400 has 4 cd/line inputs and 2 phono inputs, yet it is only a two channel mixer. What is the point of having more inputs then channels? Sorry for the newb question. I might simply be confusing myself and the answer is right in front of me.

Thanks soundwerks and tranceman..that's what i thought at first too, but i thought maybe there was something i wasn't catching. So if that's the case i might get this mixer. cheap alternative to a 3+ channel mixer.

you can definitely hook up all of that stuff. There's a ground hookup in the back for the turntable. You have two channels for the the CDJs. I don't know much about abelton, but isn't that software? If thats the case, you can also hookup your computer through RCA cables.
