MDR7506 vs HDJ1000

So my MDRV700s finally gave in, and I'll be damned if I'm spending that money on a shitty equipment again. I've heard alot of good things about the 7506(I read the review thread) and I've tried the HDJ1000s, and like how they sound. I'm worried about the durability of the HDJs though, mainly because they are built like the V700s, and people tell me that they are just as flimsy as the V700s.
Coming down to these two, which would you recommend and why?
Thanks for the help.

I had the 7506's for 5 years. But, I got a pair of Pio's over them. I like how the Pio's sound on live systems better than the 7506. They don't sound as hollow. They also sound louder. When I used the 7506 on big systems it was hard to hear. I hear a lot of breakage happening with the Pio's, but honestly, I haven't had any issues with mine. I had them for over 1 year already. By this point, they already more than paid for them selves.

It all comes down to personal preference.

One thing to keep in mind... If you buy any headphones at Guitar Center, buy the extended warranty for an extra $20. They cover ANYTHING. If they break, they give you new ones on the spot.

Thanks guys, I think the 7506's are my choice. I got to try them out at a local record shop, and they fit comfortably while still sounding nice...very good response, as commented in the review thread.
And Woody, I think that 20 extra bucks wouldn't hurt at all since it does cover everything, thanks alot for that tip

Am i really that lucky or smth, because my pio's haven't crackled, cracked etc at all, i have them for more than a year now, they even fell a few feet to the ground a few times, and they're still holding perfectly.
Sometimes i wonder, most complaints about cracking of pio's comes from the Americas, didn't hear a lot of Europeans complaining about them...
At least here, the sony's cracking is teh shit here too, but a lot of my friends own pio's for quite a while, and nobody's cracked.
Conspiracy?

I have both phones and I prefer the Pio's for DJ'ing hands down. They are a bit louder and heavier on the bass which helps que'ing in loud environments. Freak u just had bad luck with yours I guess, I've had mine for over 3 years now and only had to replace the chord. I use em almost everyday. As long as u baby em u should be fine. Anyone having breaking problems with the new ones?
