Sorry, but I'm just not sure there's that much left to do with a couple of guitars, maybe one synthesizer, and a drum set these days. If you want to look a little more stylish, you could listen to the Mars Volta or Velvet Underground (in fact, you can tell how much of a hipster asshole someone is by how much they give props to both bands).
Whenever I hear a new rock group on the radio these days, I can't help but feel like I've heard it before..
Rock is dead, replaced by 'hip hop'/'rap' which at the present is actually just slowed down minimal breaks and samples from 80s or 90s tunes, with the bass knob turned up and black people yelling over top.
