I'm going to buy new monitors soon.. Yamaha HS80M are one of the options. Does anyone have any experience with them?
I have M-audio studiophile bx8a at the moment.. Are Yamaha better in your opinion?

I've used those one at a radio station a couple of times. They are solid speakers with good bass reflex.

If you have BX8as already, wait a few weeks and aim higher - Mackies, Event ASP8, Adam A7, etc.

Ditto. I was looking for a second set of monitors and wasn't terribly impressed with them. Not bad at all - don't get me wrong - but I thought they were in the same range as monitors not quite as expensive.

I'm not fond of the sound of bass reflex. Sealed enclosures are great and more people should be aware of that.
From wiki: "When all features are compared, for home use the advantages tend to outweigh the disadvantages because they allow more bass extension out of a smaller box. The design is popular among consumers and manufacturers but the increase in bass output is invariably achieved at the expense of temporal integrity of the signal and the buildup of unwanted resonances. Reflex designs can be undesirable in settings where the utmost accuracy of reproduction is desired, e.g. in monitoring facilities, recording studios etc."
I decided to go for yamaha hs80m because they're smaller than m-audio bx8a (not sure how much though).. I'm going to college and I dont have that much space on my table for all equipment..
I dont expect that much difference with sound improvement but I guess yamahas sound better?
Do you guys have any other good small monitors beside those in mind?
