fixing warped records with a laptop

Okay, everyone knows how annoying warped records are -- esp when they are coned and u get no friction.. anyway the ideas iv heard involve glass, books, and refrigerators, blow dryers, etc.. well i live in a dorm and that isn't possible for me..

so i just got the new bonzia record and it was major warped.. so i stuck it under a thin but hard cover book, and put my laptop ontop of it. my logic is since my laptops always on itll warm the record, and flatten the record..

it worked perfectly. 2 days and its almost normal. im about to go in my crate and grab all my warped babbies.. im listening now and notice no sound quality loss..

anyway help this hopes all the college kids or ppl with those small ass city apartments =)

neeever mind.

the last few gruves on the center of the record got screwed up.. rather odd... but oh well

only on the side that was warped out tho.. its rather interesting. the other side is fine

worth a try

wait no final correction.
the side that was warped in got screwed up towards the center, where it was warped the most.

i guess the gruves got pushed a little tighter together, making it so the sound is poppy and at the end the needled won't even stay in the gruv.. (in the final center spiral loop).

i guess this could mean theres no hope for warmed records, which SUCKS

i only have like 1 or 2 reks that give me trouble...what i do is grab the record with both hands and wiggle it...errr kinda bend it back and forth...it fixes it right up

dont bend/wiggle too hard or you'll snap it
