The forgotten EDM genre

If you're around your mid 20s or older you might recall this once played genre of dance music. Back in the late 80s to mid 90's, In the U.S. it was referred to as Freestyle dance music and in broader terms it was referred to as Euro Dance. I'll just post a few of the videos for the old school listeners.

Stevie B - In my eyes

Stevie B - Spring love

TKA - tears may fall

Collage - I'll be loving you

Lil Suzy - take me

Anyone remeber this genre?

Yeah it's called synth pop, which is a very nice genre. But those tracks are just horrible (except the 808 beat sampled from Planet Rock)

After watching these videos I understand why the genre died out.

Big beat is dead?

(I don't really follow that scene so I don't know.)

fuck knows. we had it shoved down our throats in the uk, fatboy slim everywhere, then it seemingly disappeared when people got bored with it. Maybe it's around but I've not heard stuff that sounds like that f or a long time.

I see...
Only big beat I have is The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers.
I'll probably get more of Fatboy Slim's stuff because I never really listened to him and I'm curious about his works. Same goes for The Crystal Method.

Yeah, epic house was fucking awesome. Shame it only lasted a couple of years between early prog and the rise of trance.

I enjoy being able to mix it with proggier trance & get away with it. Either way, it was a lot of fun, and I know for sure that I never experienced it all but even now I enjoy listening to it
