Sure, if we are talknig about a real string enseble, or perhaps even one of these wonderful ultra-high fidelity sample libraries, then yes. But the "strings" in many or most of the tracks mentioned are synthesized, which is just fine, really, but it's not orchestral.

It's rare that you'll find full on orchestral trance with brass, percussion, woodwinds etc... You could however look at The Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions soundtracks which were a collaboration between Don Davis & Juno Reactor. Awesome tracks! Not sure if any of them are mixable, but they're certainly fun to listen to.

Yes, only a few tracks are Don Davis/Juno Reactor collaborations but they are really amazing. Don Davis' work on the entire trilogy is absolutely brilliant and Ben Watkins contributing on a few selected pieces turned out to be really nice.
My favorite one is "Burly Brawl", such a sick piece, but it's certainly not trance.

Another track to look at would be: Nickelson - Yin (Solide Globe mix) which features some beautiful strings from The Last Samurai, composed by Hanz Zimmer.

I think it's quite awful, and i love the Last Samurai score.
