Angry Tehnics pitch problem

I have just recieved my Technics MK2 and I was just playing around with the pitch. I noticed that the pitch slider is realy stiff. Is this a major problem or does it just need some oil? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Get yourself a silicon bassed lubricant to spray in the slider hole. That should do the trick.

A sitff pitch slider will help you to be more accurate with your pitch adjustments. It's a good thing, don't get rid of it by lubricating it!

I secodn that. I'd rather use a little more strength pushing it than having to sweat over a potential trainwreck during a transition.

not if it's stiff because of moisture corroding the slide bar. If they are new, don't fuck with them. If they arn't new, that silicon lub will clean the crap out of there and it's silicon so it wont' hurt the insides. You just don't use a lot.

I just read that they are new, I"d work them in a bit and then see how you feel.

You dont have to do anything to your pitch

you just gotta break it in

thats how it is with most new tables...at least with mine i had to...now they are perfect

Thnks for the help guys. I got my deck second hand and I put some silicon based lube in there and it helped a bit. I think its just a bit dirty. But it's no biggie since the pitch works fine.
