Classic of the Day: Bedrock - For What You Dream Of
I went to an old-school night last night, and had the enourmous pleasure of hearing Bedrock's classic Renaissance anthem For What You Dream Of in a club. What a track by Digweed and Muir. Dark and pounding and yet simultaneously so anthemic.
The breakdown is sheer genius- a huge melodic build that rushes upwards until it peaks, and then with the vocal "Get down" Digweed cuts all the melody out and goes straight into the hammering beat. Then there's the climax, where it finally gives in and goes uplifting with those pianos. Just a shame the lyrics are complete nonsense so far as I can tell.
They don't make them like this anymore, and the whole night made me wish I could have gone clubbing in the early 90s. The first track I heard when I walked in the club was Spooky - Little Bullet (High Velocity Mix).
