And btw, Marco V's set was top 3 so far this year, behind maybe Simon Patterson, and someone else who I'm sure was amazing.... He wow'ed me and totally went 400% above my expectations... I was expecting some wannabe minimal electro snoozecore, because of some of the outdated sets I have from last year, but as far as New York City's concerned, Marco V hasn't changed a THING! |
werd i was expecting the same thing out of him the more electro/minimal with very few techy stuff
not like the marco v from 03/04 where it was redic tech bomb after tech bomb
boy i was wrong he layed the smackdown
but as for avalon its a dump
the line outside is a mess no managment wat so ever they have 2 lines once u get closer to the front the bouncer says guys on right girls on left
so all the guys that were on the girls line who did not know were skipping me
the bouncers should have formed a better line
the crowd inside was dog shit
no one knew who the djs were and what kinda music was being spun
95% of the main floor was cracked out asians
the syestm was better then last time i was there the highs were a lil too distored but overall it was ok
eco you spun a good set glad to see you added some trance into ur opening set not just prog
but yea as for marco v hes deff not where he used to be as for his sound
but hes gettin back to it only complaint about his set was he was throwing down some cheesy ass electro vocals and i did not like the way he ended his set very weak
good seeing all the nyta's
gmoney, rory, molly, tom, starsoprano, wai, colabri i deff had fun in our own lil circle

marco bored me: a solid six.six at most
just 3-4 tracks by marco were ok run over to
sullivan and heard some decent edm for few mins...
the world has deficits of all kinds specially dj's
with attractivenergzed selecc and set's aestetics

Agree with everyone, Marco's set was flawless. I would have been happy just hearing Red Blue Purple in a big room, but he just kept going and going. Never a dull moment. I think the only set that made me as happy was Sander van Doorn, and maybe not as much. I missed Marcello opening, but the closing was excellent.
I didn't notice any of the negatives that people have mentioned. Or i noticed them but they didnt bother me. Loved the space, decent size crowd, good sound.
Few things took my attention away from the music, but Andrew on the go-go platform was definitely a hilarious distraction. Please do post the pictures.
Thanks to Polly, Wai, Erica, Tom, Heather and Ben for the most bizarre and entertaining post-party breakfast to date.
