So I was wondering if anybody could explain the mystery of Hiv. I have heard of people having sex, more than once, unprotected with an Hiv + and never having Hiv afterwards. Why does Hiv infect some of the people exposed to it but the majority never get it after exposure?

it is hard to get hiv / aids through sex. both parties have to have open sores or cuts.
so please, continue to have unprotected sex

I don't have unprotected sex or have Hiv. I was just wondering if anybody knew as to why it doesn't spread so easily...

See, the trick is, you kill an endangered white rhino first. You grind down his horns and then boil them. You drink this (put a mint leaf in to kill the bitterness), then you can frig like rabbits all night long without the fear of the AIDS. Also, being on good terms with a local witch doctor doesn't hurt.
Seriously, I'd say that some people just have a stronger immune system than others.

but is that due to lifestyle or genetics?

I would suggest both. Let's say you have a stronger than average immune system, but due to your lifestyle (say, many stressors combined with poor diet, etc.) you suppress your immune system's ability.
I'm really talking out of my arse here, so bear with me. I'm not a doctor, but I play one on COR TV.

hey, speaking of STDs... you know those like, STD family trees or whatever that connect all the people who have had sex with circles and lines and then you can figure out what STDs they might have spread to others?
i dont really think it has anything to do with strong immunity systems or anything, just method of transmission. this is why drug abusers get hiv at high rates, they use needles that have been used by hiv+ people. once they inject they get blood to blood contact.
now with sex you have penis + vagina, but no opening to the blood system of both.
my buddy who worked in a hiv info center, he would teach courses on this stuff to prisons and schools, said that you could f**k a bowl of aids and not get it. crazy stuff.
