Unhappy Trouble with Reason 3.0 ReDrum...

I've hammering away at trying to figure out this problem I've come across;

I've got 3 kicks all layered on top of one another with adjustments etc,

One compressor and one equaliser "connected" (really?) to the ReDrum to change the sound etc,

The problem is, whenever I paste the pattern to the track it loses all the processing that's gone into it e.g. the equaliser and compressor.

But whenever I just "RUN" the pattern the processing stays intact, why isn't the processing getting carried over with the pasted pattern?

Here's a screenshot of the wiring so far;

Reason

Is there no automation of the on/off/bypass switches on the eq and compressor?

All of the switches are set to "On", do I have to change them or something?? Oh and I'm kind of new to Reason but I generally know what to do.

It shouldn't do that, and your wiring seems to be correct too. Are you sure you're not leaving the "Enable pattern section" button on from the ReDrum? Because that would mean you're getting a double beat which can result in them phasing each other out...

I could take a look at the RNS file for you if you want.

Sorry my mistake I haven't explained it properly.

The processing is present because I've fiddled about with the effects while it's been playing off the sequencer and they work so the processing is getting through as it plays off the sequencer.

But there's a difference between the power of the kick on the ReDrum and on the sequencer.

When I play the pattern on the ReDrum it's got a bigger punch to it than the when it's playing on the sequencer.

I'll upload the RSN file in as soon as possible.

And here is the file

Extend the length of the notes in the sequencer. They're too short for the long deep tail on one/some/all of the samples.

What you mean extend them? If you're on about the lead then that's just experimental for now. But if I lengthen the bass line you start to get this droning noise in the background.

RSX, I mean lengthen the notes for the KICK samples in the sequencer. They're too short. When the pattern is sent to the sequencer the notes...

just read palm's post.

Cheer's palm that seemed to work. One thing I didn't do was lengthen the notes in the sequencers, are you sure the kicks are too short because they seem fine to me?

I see.

Also how do you go about writing a song?

I've tried the "just stick anything in and hope it sounds OK" method but I'm going to sit down and write/think a track down on paper.

It's obviously not going to be every single lil kick/instrument/key written down on paper though!

Uhm... that really isn't the kind of skill that can be taught. You either have it or you don't... and pretty much everyone has a different method of writing...
