this thread serves no real purpose other than to let my fellow Americans know that she's a sinking ship and hasn't even left the pier. if anybody disagrees then lets hear it, otherwise we could move on.
...and where the hell is Howard Dean? very telling but who cares, right? |
I'm curious as to what you base your analysis on, just that Bush-driven "gut" feeling again perhaps?
You already know I'm not a fan of her, but by any analysis her campaign is doing nothing but steamrolling, and has very good chances of beating out any Republican candidate.
Besides, you wanna vote for Grandpa Fred instead?:
| quote: | Edward Paul, an employee of the Delta Dental Plans Association, asked the question Monday, but had trouble being understood.
"I'm proud to say that in January 2008 New Hampshire has passed a law facilitating civil unions here. ... What is your belief for federal civil unions to be passed?" Paul asked.
"Soviet Union?" Thompson responded.
"No, civil unions," Paul said.
"Oh. No, I would not be in support of that," Thompson said.

we all know that hillary is not a smart person |
If Rudy wins, he might prove to be a worse President than Dumbya.
BTW, Carl Bernstein is on CNN at the moment talking about how we have too many polls and how Hilldog and Screwulani are both loving them because it makes them seem like the inevitable candidates. Both are worthless fucking tools. This match-up is even worse than Kerry-Bush. It's infuriating that the media shot Dean in the ass by upping the microphone too high. As all reports from that actual event state, his campaign shattering scream wasn't nearly that loud.
Seriously, Rudy is 9/11, 9/11, 9/11. Living in NYC, I know a lot of people who absolutely loathe that ass. His only weapon is scare tactics against people who have nothing to worry about in the first place due to their geographic location. Like Al-Qaeda's going to hit Boise or Kansas City, yet (sorry Opus) those fucking idiots from these areas are voting based on fear. OF WHAT??????? They've got a better chance of being attacked by crazy Christian fundies, neo-Nazi anarchists, or all white militias, not "Islamofacists."
Speaking of "Islamofacists," can't the Democrats get a few gifted wordsmiths on their side? The Republicans have the clear supremacy on that one, even though their party carries the lower IQ.

hypothetically of course, if i could seperate the fact that she is the wife of Bill Clinton, my analysis would be focused primarily on her predominately neo-socialist<--?? principles followed by her continuous flip-flopping on the issues. i have probably some of the same issues that you have with her. |
Indeed. But I'd take her wiffle-waffling any day over a Romney wiffle-waffle.
| quote: | i probably haven't made it clear. i'm with LatinLover on this. i want her to win the nomination just for the simple fact that i believe the total opposite.
in a Primary she is fataly flawed on the issues thus far, against any of the front three Republicans (stronger against McCain). on the issues with respect to the left and right. in addition to that i believe the front three Repubs have an edge intellectually and substantively in a one-on-one confrontation with her. (with the exception of McCain of course) |
Well you're going to likely get to see that wish and find out soon enough.
| quote: | | like i told you two years ago, i still believe this is a center-right country with respect to the POTUS. |
Neither the polls on the candidates nor the issues of where this country stands supports your belief. Is it just a mere belief or do you have something substantive behind it?
I respect your belief provided it's just that, even though I may disagree. But if you want to put some substance behind it I'm all ears.
| quote: | | the only candidate that i see that has the possibility to bridge that divide just enough to win the General election and could prove me wrong is Obama. |
Obama's campaign is pretty much toast, much to my disappointment. He's burned a number of folks by keeping on a homophobe staffer who believes gays can be "cured" of their gayness (like himself, honestly). Not only that but his campaign in general has been extremely subpar and lackluster.
The problem that I alluded to earlier is that Hillary's campaign is a freakin' machine, and all polls in the state primaries pretty much show her running away with this sucker (except Iowa, which is starting to tighten up a bit more). She hasn't stood on anything substantive, and when cornered on particulars she gives sweeping generalizations that answer nothing directly at all (I think that's one area we agree on). While the rest of the candidates are fighting to knock her percentages down, she's already gearing up towards the POTUS race itself against her Republican candidate. She's got the money, she's got the name and Bubba pull behind her, and she's got a shitload of power lined up behind her.
I don't like it, but it would be extremely presumptuous to think she has no chance with all these things going for her right now.
I'd like to talk about the Republican candidates some time, but perhaps that'll be saved for another thread.
