My friend when I first Joined TA I thought the same
But Really if u even get 1000000000 USD gear and ur not talented u wont be like Prydz
A musician can do music with a "pencil" not with the best gear
Its about the musician not the Gear

to be fair though, I would find it interesting to know what prydz's setup is. Not because I think thats what I must need to be a pro but just out of interest. His productions are shit hot so it would be cool to know his setup.

wow this is why i dont post on here that often..

the question wasnt, how do i be like eric prydz. what gear do i need to buy? i wanna imitate him. maybe if i buy his studio i can BE him.

it was merely, im curious what his setup is... what kinda of equipment is at his fingertips and how versatile is he??

i think you e-hermits should really reevaluate your previous answers...

no offense but im tired of seeing 10000 replies like that one.

i guess its tough for a NOOB to get a straight answer around here without getting mocked...

Some say that he works in logic and uses mostly soft synths. They also say he has a lot of hardware synths which he uses or maybe not. Not sure about this one. He's using a lot of processing on his sounds, and that's what makes his sound. Weather it is hardware or software I can't tell you, since I don't know yet. There is this guy that's gonna do some work with Eric anytime soon, so he's gonna let us know.. I'll let you know if I find anything out..

Read a D.Rameriez interview where he said he made his sounds using Nord 3 and couldnt replicate the bass sound using any soft synths. He said he tried for a week and gave up and went back to nord.

So could possibly include a nord lol

i hear different stories from alot of other credible producers that have talked to him...

ive heard that he uses logic on a laptop with headphones and writes his songs on the way to his next gig.

ive also heard that he has a badass studio.

some say he is his own mixdown engineer but im not totally sure about that. his mixdown techniques are almost identical to that of Infusion's about 3-4 years ago...

the guy who does or has done his mastering is: http://www.masterpiece.net/waltercoelho.php

he also mastered my Small World EP...the guy is amazing..

yea its definitely all good mastering, reason why prydz stuff sounds soo phat. some1 on the gu board said he uses just a motu 824 mk2 and logic on a apple. in all honesty though, after giving it to a prestige mastering engineer with an over million dollar studio who runs it off a analog console like an SSL, of course it going to sound phat.
