I really liked his essential mix, but a few sets that popped up after that were a miss for me...
The thing is, Sasha is very experimental with music. He believes the people always want to hear something new, and people will get bored easily. At this point, I think he's just showcasing a different sound which might not appeal to everyone because they haven't moved forward with the music. A few months down the road, he'll be throwing down a whole new vibe, and seeing as how Emfire has gotten off to a good start, and he's got a few releases lined up, I'm sure it will be good.
Furthermore, people love to see him. He may not be jumping around in the booth, but he has a connection with the crowd which took him nearly 30 years to make. His knowledge of music has only improved, he knows what to play, and when to play it, and he's only expanding.
Keep in mind, this is a big of busy time for Sasha. He's got a kid on the way, the launch of Emfire, track hunting for Involver 2 (it will be released sometime around next summer), the production of his Maven, and touring.
My respect for him has only gone up.
