Thumbs up James Zabiela @ Studio A 11/03/2007 Review (with Pics + Vids)

I don't even know where to start. I had such a blast last night. Wow! Ended up getting to Studio A kinda late cuz I had to watch the Seminoles take out BC! w00t! So my night was already off to a good start. Ended up getting inside Studio A around 1:40. There was a little bit of a line but not too bad. Once inside Stryke I guess was the DJ and it wasn't bad when we walked in. Studio A had a nice setup going. They had a huge screen behind the DJ booth and multiple cameras pointed on the DJ and the mixer and relayed those to the screen. It was really nice. It was crowded as all hell though. I did not expect that many people to show up, but I guess if its an 18+ party you're gonna have a lot of kiddies running around. Did not see a lot of people drinking, but I did see a lot of people REALLY fucked up. Saw a lot of sunglasses on prepubescent teens and a lot of vicks going up their noses. Got bumped into a hell of a lot, but overall I didn't let it bother me too much.

Onto James, he came pretty much exactly at 2 which was a big plus and started it off hot right from the beginning. I have no idea what tracks he dropped it was all ID ID ID for me, but you know I'd much rather have fun at a night out and have NO idea what the DJ is dropping than go see Armin and be yelling out IDs all night long. But James ripped it hard from beginning to end. He never let up through his set. He was dropping what I can only describe as techy hard minimal breaksy shit. I have no clue, but he fucking tore it up. Zabiela is obviously one of the worlds most technically sound DJs and it showed last night. Never did I hear him fuck up and constantly he was fucking with shit. The man is a fucking robot behind the decks! Plus he was very animated. He was smiling the whole night and jumping up and down really enjoying himself. Ended up leaving at 4 just cuz I'm getting too old to party all night long, but I had a blast and would definitely give James my money again!

I took in total 27+ minutes of video last night. Filled both my memory cards for my camera. Its currently uploading, but it should take all day or more considering its 2+ GBs of video. I think a lot of the video came out really nice, except you can totally tell when someone bumps me or my arm cuz the video gets jerked for a second. But overall I think I got some good shots. But once the videos are done uploading I'll post em here so you can check em out. If anyone knows any of the IDs from the videos, please let me know.

Also took some pictures, some good, some bad, but posting em all for you all to see.

and easily my fav pic...

He needs to come back to Atlanta. We also need a Howells fix as I don't think we've ever had one.

glad you guys had such a good time. thanks for the support. see you at the next futuremob event.

it was rammed , the sound was awesome , james and stryke were fantastic. can't wait to see the videos .. i was backstage part of the night and the other part on the floor. he played all 4 songs from his upcoming ep on renaissance. human (intro edit) , perseverance , no other way but down , phaser fire. he encored with that remix of joga he's been playing and closed with the his edit of thom yorke vs joris voorn. other hi lights was that massive tim davison remix of hey boy hey girl and a few other tunes i'm not going to talk about

i was the guy with the green ravelizards shirt on that had the gold letters on it. i saw a few of you who i think post on here.

thanks again for the wonderful words and we hope to see you at our next event.

I'd put money down that one of the tracks he dropped was Elite Force - I Don't Think So....insane track.

Thumbs up

Good job by JZ, as always. Definitely dropped mostly techy stuff, and later on in the night it was noticeably darker, harder and better for my taste. Good job by the promoters/venue with the reinforced sound and added visuals, and all-in-all not a bad venue. And Pat M is right there were a lot of kiddies whacked out of their minds there last night, but such is Miami and 18+ parties
