Idea-Can we start a sticky thread like "Locals Only", or "NYTA DJ"s",something for active members of this board who have gigs, like the party planner thread, so all the gigs can be in one place in addition to the threads for a "one stop shop" if you get what I mean, and it should be sticky'd. This would help regular readers,a nd those who check it out only a couple of times a week a central organized palce to look
What do you guys think

Interesting thought, my only problem with a sticky is they can get out of control quickly. If you look at the responses a core/massive/ssu/strobelife thread gets, and combine them, it might be a bit tough to properly coordinate it, but I bet we could work something out.

Sheila has already approached Swamper about this Mike and the answer is yes although it costs money....As soon as we've confirmed dates,, dj's and venues all our events will be stickied...From January we're gonna have a semi permanent banner up at the top of the page....

The sticky is part of the banner deal and it's very little extra cost...If it's ok with TA and it's possible to do I'd have no objection at all to letting Core,,Massive,,Strobelife,,Jet-Lag etc to post events in the sticky.....

My knowledge of this is very limited but here's what i'm thinking...We all pay for a big flash banner,,Core,,SSU etc....All our logos go on the banner but we have our own stickies.....

As Frank said,,each of our events threads become like forums within a forum...I think it will tidy the page up nice and everything is kept in its place,,keeping the promotion,,roll calls and reviews in a neat package.....

The prices we got from Swamper are very reasonable BTW....

Steve, not sure about that idea, that would require even more bouncing from one forum to another, which southbound says he wants to avoid... Southbound's idea sounds like a good one to me though, as far as listing local's dates... A sticky with updated lists (no flyers, no hype) of where our locals are going to be... Is that what you mean, southbound? Basically, a copy of EnigmaT's but focused on locals...

this is a good idea.. someone could just post a thread and put the gigs in in and then just update it regularly, between all of us we could bump it to the top enough so it's easy to find

i'm not hating, but what's the point of paying for a sticky thread for your gigs when everyone on this board already knows about it? just asking...

then what's the point of the banner? who would see the banner that otherwise wouldn't already come to the gig? again, not trying to give you a hard time, just asking. i think you need to expand the advertising to people who don't already know.

Good idea but when is there a party in NY when locals are not playing anyways? Most promoters will post their events in the tread anyways......kinda defeats the idea behind it. I think seperate SSU, Core, Massive stickys is a good idea but it def could get out of control and useless quickly. IMO the banner is far more effective and if it's cheap it's well worth it......this forums gets tons of traffic from non posters......so many times I've been out and somebody comes up to me and is like "yo your vtec from nyta" and I'm like who are you lol. It's time to start reaching out to those people who are not within the circle and a banner is the perfect way.
