looking to buy djm 800 wit 2 cdj 1000mk3s, where would be a good cheap reliable place to buy them around the gta, or on the net?

what are the differences between a xone 92 and the djm 800, which would you prefer and why?

what kind of software would i need to get to start creating tracks?

If you don't know the difference between the 800 and the 92 then I wouldn't get them. Far too expensive to take a gamble on. Get a simple mixer for now and when you better understand it all, then you can decide.

As for the CDJ1000s, I personally think that if you are set on getting and keeping them then do so, but others will argue that it's overkill to start with or overkill for home. Those are valid arguments too but it's debatable. The mixer issue shouldn't be.

Yea I know, he's in the same position as me. I was going to get the 1000s and an 800 or 92 but then I thought about it and while I know I want the 1000s (at least I did until the 400s came out...) the mixer....well I don't really know which one to get really. I've decided to get like a Numark DM06 (or whatever the hell it is) and then get the better mixer if and when I need one later on and know what I want.

Then again if he's happy to blow $2000 on a mixer he has no idea about, go for it.

This is a very expensive hobby my friend. I dont know your musical background but if you are just starting, getting the cdj's with the 800 may seem a little too advanced for a beginer. You can go with the cdj 800 mk2's (half the price, virtually does the same shit). As for a mixer, that is in my opinion your best tool as a dj, therefore I suggest you invest in a good mixer. The xone & the 800 are excellent mixers, but the xone is much more sophisticated than the 800 in my opinion. Actually, the xone may be more to your favor if u ever intend on using midi applications with the mixer. As for production programs, Reason is an excellent entry-level program to make music. Very user friendly and the sound quality is not cheesy at all!

No way d00d. The DJM800 has way more Midi Capabilites than the Xone 92.

The entire mixer is midi assignable. Either way, both mixers are excellent. If you know someone with a Xone or a DJM play with them. They are two different animals. I love the sound quality on the Xone, but I love my effects and simplicity of the DJM800. I had the same debate earlier this year, and I opted for the DJM800. I never looked back.
