First of all, good work by your girlfriend, that had me captivated for the entire 5 minutes. Not to mention, I don't think this is something people ever hear about (I certainly didn't know about it) so kudos for bringing the awareness.
As far as suggestions go I would say that when you are requiring the viewer to read a sentence on the screen, it becomes difficult to do so when the sentence takes 3-4 fade in/outs to do so. It is more striking when it can be read on the same screen all at once. That way not as much attention and focus would be taken off of the actual filming that's just going on in the background. I found myself staring at the bottom of the screen because I wanted to read the caption, but not paying attention to what was actually going on on-screen.
Also, I don't know if at the end you want to put "In a January 2008 meeting," instead of "In January 2008" meeting. It just read funny because of the grammar.
I'm really interested in seeing the final of this. Keep us posted.
