Types of Psy Trance

It seems John 00 Fleming, Chris Lawrence, Yahel, Infected Mushroom are classified as psy trance. But J00F and CL clearly have a diff sound than Yahel and Infected, so what category of psy trance are they classified as?

J00F and Christopher Lawrence play similiar type of psytrance. The reason why they sound different from others is that they mix both progressive trance with full on trance.
Infected Mushroom and Yahel play full on trance. Which is the type of psytrance which is popular in Israel.

Infected and yahel aren't full-on..

yahel is now playing very commercial stuff and IM are really into their own psychedelic/rock style. full-on is more like GMS, astrix, pixel and so on.

Infected mushroom=unique
Yahel=Not terribly psy

Bad question... next?

Genres:
Full on Psy
Melodic Full on
Morning psy
Dark psy
Nitzhoot
Psymbient
Regular
Progressive psytrance (JOOF etc)
Progpsy (Vibrasphere, Son kite, human blue etc)

Goa is not psy... just as house is not trance. They have quite different structures and sounds (although not as big as house/trance)

Because I'm not allowed to post and then edit my post straight after? Sorry about that.

There are pretty much as many genres as you want. But as RebeL9 already said, Infected Mushroom are pretty unique and Yahel is pretty standard Israeli full-on type, lots of melodies and synths, which usually appeals to a larger number of "commercial" people.

Not starting a war here but i just got to mention

Progpsy is just short for progressive psytrance.
And J00F is not about progpsy in general, infact the only progpsy i have heard from him is some Vibrasphere stuff like Landmark and that Vibrasphere style is a kind of it's own. I would say he spins 75% fullon, although his radio show is more mixed.

Good progpsy is Sensient, Shiva Chandra, Phony Orphants and alikes.

bad comparaison, psy-trance have it's roots in goa, trance doesn't has it's roots from house. goa / psy are different for the types of sounds they use but the track structure are pretty similar. anyway it's like entering a gray area to start comparing those 2 again !! hehe
