At Belo, we've tried it with a table @ AvB in March, and going into the crowd of Oakenfold (of all dj's) in July, but it just isn't happening for us unfortunately.
On Broadway also has it's issues. We tried going for Benassi a few weeks ago, arrived at 10pm, and were turned away at 11:30pm, because they were at capacity.
You just about have to go to these events at like 9pm to even get in, which sometimes isn't even worth it. I'm glad to see the EDM folks come through SD, but jesus christ find some larger venues so the people who actually want to go see their fav dj's (and are fans of their music/style) aren't bumped out by the scenesters looking for a lay.

I say just go. I have been to Belo a few times after Armin and it doesn't get busy until 11. Even after that there is still room to dance.
