Anyone else watch this guy Johnathon on youtube? He's actually got his own site now. http://www.djtutor.com/index.php


Basically, he started doing simple DJ advise/tutor vids on youtube a year or so ago and he just made his 1000th vid a few days ago. He's got some great stuff on just about every subject related to DJing and he does it with a good sense of humor too. Seems like a real nice guy.
I always check out his daily new vids when I'm bored.

Btw, youtube "mr mechanic" for some funny vids.

ya seems like a really nice guy, really trying to help people out. i have asked him questions and he eventually always answers. nice to see people out there go so much out of their way just to help people out.

yeah he was the guy that got me into DJing and helped me get my first set of tables. Really helped me get where i am today.

i find the guy hilarious.

Yep. Been watching since he was just starting. Been in contact with him quite a bit since then. I have an importz page aswell under Happyviking.

It's the first time I hear about this guy and I learned how to correct a sample on my CDJ800MK2, I was wondering that 2 days ago

Watched a lot of his videos... with my very little knowledge he's often wrong or I disagree blatantly with him... for example he confused a bar and a phrase up until only a month ago.

This is a pretty big mistake... theres been others like it can't think off the top of my head however.

I prefer Briansred... he at least knows his shit and is brutally honest... instead of Jonathon who acts so hard to be the nice guy... it shows.

[EDIT] Just remembered another big thing... he's a big Youtube fanboi! He doesn't even support any kid of mix or tutorial that isn't on youtube! Sorry mate but a 10 minute mix is not the optimum timeframe... if your gonna have a site entirely devoted to DJing then I think you should encourage the use of some other sites than youtube (Veoh for example lets you upload high quality stuff at up to... well can't remember but its above 2 hours and you can stream it all so long as you have a decent connection[not sure of exact rate... but my 1500k can and my friends 512k can't]).

What's the point of having a DJing site if the only mixes you have on there are only 10 minutes! Only using youtube(concidering the 10 minute max rule)=credibility out the door
