I watch The Joulukalenteri! I spend it either at home or at my family's cottage, we go to sauna, make and eat some good food, open and give gifts etc. I don't know which would be the best or worst present I've gotten, too many presents

Re: how do you christmas?
We celeberate christmas with family, eat a nice ass dinner
We celebrate New Years a bit more though since we are from russia.
This year the whole family (relatives included) are planning on flying out to California and renting a house by lake tahoe and celeberate new years there. then after new years we are supposed to go to vegas
i prefer to give gifts (only time of the year)
I have gotten a computer for christmas before, never received shitty gifts

we celebrate christmas on the eve, and have a really nice dinner. The tradition usually goes that when you see the first star appear in the sky it is time to sit down and have dinner.
There are a lot of meals, but for good luck in the next year you are supposed to taste at least 12.
we don't have a turkey, we have fish
we open presents after dinner
the next morning, we all sit down for breakfast together, and pretty much don't leave the table for the whole day. it is a family oriented day..just eat and be merry
and that's pretty much it..
Take that star off the tree and just shove it straight up your ass.

I open presents in the morning and then afterwards go to my aunt's house to open more presents. After that my parents and I usually go to a family party.

When I go home to NY- open presents in the morning (like 7-8 AM- my mother still insists on waking us up early). Have a full breakfast with the family then clean up and get ready. My sister comes over with her family and my brother comes over. We watch my sister's kids open the presents, which takes like an hour b/c Santa has come yet again and then sit down and eat a 4-5 course meal at 4pm. Get drunk then play with the kids and their new toys. Everyone goes home around 9ish. But I think this year will be different b/c my sister now lives above my parents, my brother lives down the block and my husband will be spending his first xmas with my family.
When I am in Australia, where I live now, my husband and I open presents in the morning, I complain how hot it is, talk to my family in NY for a few hours, cry and then go over to the in-laws.

usually w/ family...but not last year or this year (out of state).
i love the holiday season tho. even if i can't spend w/ family, i at least can w/ friends. and it helps get me a little more in touch w/ my religious side too.
