Anas Attia - Zeitoon (Anti-War Mix)
Hey guys,
This is a mix I’ve wanted to put out now for quite some time, I’ve enjoyed making it, and have had long discussions about it with a bunch of friends of mine, and so far so good, so I hope you enjoy it also. I just needed a period to collect my thoughts about what it is exactly that I’m trying to convey in the mix, along with the its musical styling, but what I got, I hope, is refreshing.
You will undoubtedly notice the spoken word and speeches throughout the mix, the idea sprung up in the middle of some long political debate between my house mate and myself. I just figured it would be cool to convey a message I believe through the use of electronic music. This concept may seem new and bizarre at first, however it is considerably similar to the use of rock music during the Vietnam protest period. Famous artists such as, John Lennon, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Jimi Hendrix became infamous icons of peace and freedom during the revolutionary period. A new world revolution is prevalent throughout the world today and electronic method is quickly becoming the new voice of the people.

All in all, download it, and don’t hesitate to share the mix with friends. By the way, if you’re interested, the back cover is of the outline of Palestine, my home country. Zeitoon means olives in Arabic and a bunch of other languages, and the olive tree is a great religious symbol in all three major religions, and grows naturally in this region of land.
Take Care
Anas.
