From Tony's MySpace Blog:
"Just got back from an amazing US/Canadian tour with Paavo. We criss-crossed the continent at its coldest - out the window of the plane was an endless black and white quilt of snowy squares - the one mile square/county road system really is the most incredible act of human illustration on a vast scale.
But the gigs were all hot! Thanks to everyone who came and made us feel so loved.
One of the things that is changing the landscape for us in America is our show on XM radio and the play we're picking up on Sirius. It really is reaching out to a whole new audience for us Stateside, for whom electronic dance music is an exciting new alternative to the wall to wall R&B/AOR FM radio staple.
Perhaps my most indelible memory from the trip was driving round stoned for two hours with Joe, the amiable promoter from Austin Tx (our new favourite US city) listening to the Anjunabeats Worldwide radio show, live on XM. ("Are we nearly there, yet?!!") To cap a perfect experience was a bit of happenstance that brought a squeel of glee from me. We switched over at the end of the show and caught the tail end of a play of the Spencer & Hill mix of "For All I Care" on another XM channel. We never intended the track to be a single, the remix was by request from S&H and so to hear it on the radio was a very nice surprise. When it gradually dawned on me that it was my voice coming out of the speakers I experienced the fulfillment of an ambition I never knew I had, to hear myself singing a pop song on the radio in America. When the DJ back announced it (quite a rare thing on XM) I was having a giggling fit in the back of the car.
Thank you Spencer & Hill, thank you Joe, thank you XM radio DJ.
