how come when i plug my computer into my amp and montiors it sounds just fine, but how come if i plug my comp into my mixer then the mixer into the amp it sounds sooo bad its not even funny. I wanna do my comp into mixer because its easier for my to hook ip up from there rather then get on my knees and under a table.

Re: sound quality question
sounds like a ground loop. does this occur when the computer is not plugged in (if it is a laptop, if not then obviously it won't work without being plugged in)? anyway i'd suggest getting a ground loop isolator, they don't cost much.

I believe it's possible to solder your own plug too, but just don't connect the ground. If you have a earth loop you just need to be able to lift the ground on one side of the cable to get rid of the humming.
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

He never said its humming.
Could you describe the noise? Then maybe we can help you more.
For ground loops, yes those Radio Shack RCA isolators do work. Solved a problem for me running my mixer to my receiver in the living room... that was of course a "hum" sound.
If you are getting a distorted sound, make sure you're not plugged into a phono input.
