You can mod it yourself in like a few minutes.
You just need to downgrade your firmware then install the hacking software and then you're good to go.
My friend at work just hacked his PSP Slim. I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but just google it, there are tons of ways to hack it.
I have a regular PSP. I had it hacked a while ago, but de hacked it when I didn't have any use for it. Now i'm going to hack again in the next week or something. Haven't used my PSP in a while.
But yeah, GOOGLE is your friend in terms of hacking the PSP.
Modding the PSP is different then modding the DS.
Essentially you are just allowing homebrew to be run on your PSP which is 100% legal.
It is then up to you if you want to play 'backup' PSP games or whatever. I just had my PSP hacked so I could play emulators and do other things on there.
