Review: 5+hrs of SASHA in Budapest
Even tho this was all the way in Budapest, i had to briefly write a review.
Positives:
- 5.5 hrs of Sasha
- exclusive access party: capacity of club is 4000, a max of 3500 tix were sold (sold out the 2nd day of sales, Dec 2)
providing plenty of room to dance...can u imagine Guv doing that??
- played almost EXACTLY the sound i wanted to hear
----> the best way i can describe it is, it was like hearing a Sasha-Digweed-Lawler hybrid sound.
Negatives:
- 70% doods
This set was nothing like his Essential Mix, his Live @ Tribe Montreal, or anything else i have heard from 2007.
ONE track with trance-y elements, maybe 3-4 trax that were minimal-y, and ZERO electro sounds.
A perfect cross-section of these mixes:
Steve Lawler - Viva London CD2 and Wasted Again promo from 2006
John Digweed - Live @ The Warehouse Project Manchester
----> but Sasha-fied
So what that amounts to was an EXTREMELY deeeeep, and predominantly darker set mixed with incredible grooves throughout.
Approx 90% of the trax i LOVED, so this set was a 9/10 for me.
To everyone going to the Pepsi Forum to see 'em and Digweed, have a BLAST...obv goin to be a SPECTACULAR party
