quite often. another reason why i try to avoid convention centre events. most of the time all the staff are all over, things are underplanned, food sucks (or lack of), security minimal, and the vibe sucks. a shady promoter/club will over sell events just to guarantee a full house (thinking some wont end up showing up or something or be greedy and care about making money rather than the patron). it usually ends in chaos, upset people (who will never go to another event), and bad rep

So some people were disappointed on NYE, it happens. They should do a story on nights that the Guv open up all the rooms and gets ridiculously packed like L.O.L, they could probably do a 1/2 hour story on how unhappy some people get!
I think this story was brought out because someone who was upset knows someone in a higher place. Do they really expect us to believe this was the only event where people were turned away or were really upset they didn't get to enjoy their night? |
there's no one that knows someone "in a higher place" that's ever attended a guv event? It was covered because alot of people were really pissed off and actually did something about it (formal complaints to the better business bureau), instead of coming on tranceaddict.com and filing a formal complaint in the "events review thread"

Personally, I ask, how come they only interviewed that chick sitting in the office at work labelled "disappointed party goer"??? She obviously had something to do with it... she's the only that was interviewed! |
it's a news story..not a bbc documentry. not everyone can be intervied. All sides had coverage in the story.
A public statement was made by the head of the promotional company (Mike Kasser), which he really was crucfied for in all of the facebook event pages
A view from the patrons was displayed in the interviews and the presentation of the facebook groups.
HECFI, the company who runs and manages the Convention center also had statements in the news cast.
******
I just find this really interesting because in our club culture we deal with this shit all the time and still go back the the same places...then complain about it again the next time it happens.
The people who were pissed off and feel they were taken advantage of are doing something about it...and by the looks of it something will come out of it. Weather it's the bare min. of having people tickets refunded for the people who were denyed entry. and who knows what else.
(except the people who didn't get in that paid advanced tickets they for sure deserve $ back)
all three groups in this case have valid arguments against the other at this point. ..I'm just really curious how it's gonna turn out.
