Review: Gift 2007 @ The Guvernment (12-22-2007)
do I have to do everything around here? lol!
Here's a short version:
I heard Almost everything and anything I wanted to hear from the Best of Trance (1998-2003) , Met so many old friends and enjoyed the vibe immensely from the start to finish.
now it's your turn;

I was wondering who was going to finally start this, lol.
Had a pretty decent time although I ended up spending alot of time in the gallery, which was f'n awesome as always. I'm ashamed that I missed out on what was special that evening, but did catch two huge bombs in the main room (born slippy and adagio for strings)
alot of nice songs were played, I think the Braveheart theme song was the best and adaigo for strings because of the smoke during the climax

It was a pretty decent night, heard a few classics which was sweet. M&S were dropping solid tribal beats in The Drink for a bit which made the night all the more worthwhile.
P.S. Merry Christmas everyone!

yeah, that pretty much sums it up. i wasn't totally digging the first part of the set although mark dropped a buncha classics from the 90s which i enjoyed. the shenanigans on stage were entertaining at first but got old after a while and i couldn't stand being pushed around so much with all the traffic near the front. so i found myself spending a lot of time in the gallery and caught de-koze's set. what a treat!!! the man didn't skip a beat... he rocked our socks off for a good 2 hours.
the vinyl junkies were on after and although they were great i returned to the guv and by that time mark was well into his trance set. i thoroughly enjoyed listening proper trance being played in the guv main room. he played pretty much every track i wanted to hear cept PVD - Crush... or did he? maybe i was in the gallery at the time.
i loved how the set got much techier/harder towards the end. the encore was pretty meh to be honest until he played PQM - Are You Sleeping, just as we were leaving. wow! tune of the night for me... i've only heard that track in a club like twice before and it's been a very long time since then.
pretty decent night overall. we got in for free thanks to shaya. we were on the guv evite rsvp list but never used it... i heard that ppl who did come in via the list had to pay. is that true, even after the evite said complimentary admission... can someone confirm? it was great seeing a bunch of TAs in attendance and partying it up with you. Merry Christmas guys!
