Red face Producing Question #54354

Hey,
I know you guys in here have been asked this question many a times. If you could point me in the direction without 'ing me to death i would appreciate it. Anyhow i want to get into producing. I have software, reason, cubase, acid pro, soundforge and the like, but like what would be good for a synth to input this stuff? and can you tell me how a better synth will work better even though it is the software producing the sound? well thanks again.

the difference is in a lot of things.

how crappy does the keyboard feel. Are the keys weighted, semi-weighted, not weighted, how many keys are there, does the keyboard support velocity and aftertouch? are there wheels for pitch bend and modulation? are there controller knobs?

If you don't know what it does or what it's for. Don't buy it.

Hey thanx,
would you be able to show me what you recommend in each price range. Like low price regular targeted price and the high (i want one) price range. Just what you think is good for money, so i can clearly get an idea of prices. And also reckon you could gimme some synths to look at around the $900 mark in AU dollers. Thanks again

If u have cubase...get native instruments fm7 & pro 52 soft synths...I'm asuming you ave a keyboard for midi...if not go with fruityloops and use the piano role or sequencer...

Are you looking for a synth with sounds to play BY cubase or a keyboard to play sounds IN reason and cubase?

I personally use the roland pc180, which i find is good quality and has a large octave range (i hate the octave +/- buttons). But it doesnt really offer any kind of controllers like say the midiman oxygen

Which you can see has some knobs on the top right which you can use to input data such as filter sweeps. These are not essential as you can draw them by hand, but its just a bit easier with this.
