For a freebie, try Twisted Lemon's Sidekick.

The Waves C1 SC is much better, but is not cheap.

If you want to get serious about sidechaining, get Sonar 7PE - sidechaining with the Sonitus compressor and gate is built-in.

The SC comes with both standard (i.e., stereo) and mono versions. But, it can be tricky to set up, depending on your host. I've gotten it to work in Sonar, but it has to be inserted on a stereo bus, which then has to be routed to a second mono bus in order to work properly, so I don't think that you can get stereo sidechaining using it that way. Although a workaround in any host may be to run to separate parallel instances, with each output panned opposite. Which host are you using?

Try Compadre Beatpuncher, my personal favorite.

I used to use Sidekick a lot.. until i started opening up sessions in Live and Sidekick's settings would be lost. Really irritated me. Also, I'm getting to the point where I like to have more than 4 instances open. With Sidekick, it has its own routing scheme built in, which is easy. You're limited to 4 instances of the vst though, and you have to insert it as the trigger on one channel, and the effect on the other. If you're doing a kick and bass, then it's just fine and perfect for the job.... as long as it saves the settings when you close/open it.

That beatpuncher looks nice

I've loved Chunkwave Vanilla SC. LOTS of tweakable options. FREE!

sidekick is shithouse quality imo. it is also far too buggy.

i use the compressor in wavearts trackplug, but the sonalksis compressor is also very good. if you need a virtual sidechain, use one of the db-audioware compressors (DX or VST).
